	Big Island Revealed - This is a great book that has managed to stir-up a bit of controversy due to it's highly in-depth content about the island. Regardless of the critics, this is a "must have" book for anyone visiting or moving to Hawaii. In fact, it was the first book I bought when considering relocating to the Big Island.
	Map of the Big Island of Hawaii - A large map with fantastic details. Plus, the author (James A. Bier) includes all the old Hawaiian names of places on the island which truly helps put things into perspective.
	Hawaii Atlas - Very thorough map of the state. Great details of the Big Island including topography, roads, parks, camping, etc. Definitely a "must have" if you live here or are considering moving here.
	Atlas of Hawaii - A wealth of information about Hawaii, including its physical environment from geology to earthquakes, its biotic environment from animals to plants, its culture, from archaeology and history to religion and architecture, and its social environment, from land use to communications.
	So You Want to Live in Hawaii - A good resource guide for those looking to relocate to the State. One word of caution however, much has changed with Hawaii's economy and way of life since it was written. Most importantly, this book truly helps you answer key questions about whether or not you're ready to relocate.
	Affordable Paradise - It is difficult to believe that paradise is still "affordable", but this book made a believer out of me! Yes, there are still very affordable locations in Hawaii, especially on the Big Island.
	Living & Retiring in Hawaii - I have had several past clients recommend this book to any of my future clients. I have yet to read it - but I'll take the word for it.
	Beaches of The Big Island - A fascinating book with lots of information and insights about the Big Island's many beaches - small and large. Also directions for finding some of the less obvious beaches. A few years old, but still one of my most referenced books.
	Hawaii Trails - Listing most every imaginable trail on the Big Island, as well as information about the them, and the kind of problems you are likely to encounter. A good source for serious hikers.
	Hiking Hawaii - details 40 hiking trails in 18 hiking areas, including trails to the summit of Mauna Loa volcano and to snowcapped Mauna Kea, trails that crisscross Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and trails that follow the cliffs of the Big Island's dramatic northeast coast. Detailed camping and cabin rental information is also included.
	Snorkel Hawaii - From a colorful cover to dozens of detailed maps of snorkeling sites, this book draws you into the fascinating underwater world that shouldn't be missed by anyone touring the Big Island.
	Shoal of Time - An excellent writing style by a knowledgable author gives the reader a grasp of how and why Hawai'i moved from isolation to its current status as a state. This book talks about many events, starting from the time Hawai'i was discovered by the Europeans. Highly recommended by the Kona Historical Society.
	A Guide to Old Kona - Very thorough discussion of the local history of Kona, Hawaii, with interesting references to local ethnic life. It will make your big Island experience that much more interesting. I recommend this book to anyone who plans to visit Hawaii. Published by our very own Kona Historical Society.
